JIMMY HOTZ - Fact Sheet

·         Early Beginnings

Ψ       Began playing guitar at the age of 7.

Ψ       First obtained professional electronic test equipment “oscilloscopes, meters, etc.” at age 12.

Ψ       Began performing professionally at age 13.

Ψ       In 1971 at the age of 17 began working with and programming computers.

Ψ       In 1971 began Engineering and Producing Records professionally.

Ψ       In1973 at the age of 19 began working for JBL and within 9 months was made “Lead Man” of electronic production and shortly thereafter received a special award from the President of the company for reorganization of the electronics department.

·         Over 30 years of broad experience in a vast range of skills covering the entertainment and technical fields – all in parallel - with the ultimate focus of bringing music to new levels both artistically and technically.  Experience includes:

Ψ       Studio and Live Performance Musician - Guitar, Keyboards, Flute, Drums, the Hotz Translator.

Ψ       Programmer – Computers, Digital Audio Effects, Samplers, Synthesizers, MIDI

Ψ       Musical Instrument Designer - pioneered early work with music and computers; consulted in the design of several major music software and hardware products.  Has obtained multiple patents for his inventions that involve music and computers.  U.S. Patents: [5,049,738],  [5,502,274] and [5,619,003] and European Patent [EPO 452347B1], other US and International patents pending.

Ψ       Hands-on practical experience in all aspects of electronic hardware and software production from design to finished goods including assembly lines, quality assurance and service in the field.

Ψ       Record Producer, Recording Engineer, Live Mixing Engineer

Ψ       Recording Studio Designer/Builder/Consultant

Ψ       Design, production, maintenance and repair of a wide range of electronic devices.

Ψ       3dGraphics Expert - Was the Chief Visionary behind the 3dMAxMedia Zuma project, also put together and led the team that developed the technology  (real-time manipulation of 3dGraphics by Audio, MIDI and other real-time control devices).  Zuma won a 2001 Innovation award from Computer Graphics world and was used on the 2001 NSYNC tour.
